Question

We need a report showing the invoice history of services for a customer for the entire year. How do we generate this report? We need a itemized list, not a monthly total

There's a few different invoice-based reports available in QuickBooks. For what you're looking for, you may want to try your Invoice List or Invoice and Received Payments reports.

 

Here's how to run them:
 

  1. In the left navigation bar, go to Reports.
  2. Find your Invoice List or Invoice and Received Payments report. You can use the Find report by name search field if necessary.
  3. Click your report to access it.
  4. Make any necessary changes to its dates, filters, etc.
  5. When you're ready, select Run report.

 

You can also add additional customizations to some reports. For example, clicking to Columns will give you options to add a Customer column, going to Filter will provide options to filter by customers, and going to Group by will enable you to group by customers.

 

If you need further customization options, reports can be exported and customized further outside of QuickBooks.
