Downloaded a CSV file from First Command Bank. Followed instructions in QB to import the file. Keep getting an error. There is no hint at what I would need to correct.

Each bank formats CSV files differently, which can be why you're having trouble importing your CSV into QuickBooks, @dan245. Let's address this issue so you can successfully download your transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

First, could you please specify the error message you received when trying to upload the CSV file to QuickBooks? Additionally, attaching screenshots or providing more details will help me assist you better.

Before importing, ensure that your CSV file adheres to the correct format. QuickBooks accepts CSV files organized in either a 3-column or 4-column format. These are the only formats it can handle.

It's essential that the columns for Date, Description, and Amount specifically match the sequence QuickBooks expects. You can check and adjust your file using Excel to ensure your transactions are ready for import. For guidance on formatting your CSV file in Excel, please visit this article: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

Once you've confirmed that the file is correctly formatted, go ahead and import it into QuickBooks.

After importing, review and categorize your transactions to ensure they're accurately reflected on your Schedule C. This organization helps clarify your income and expenses, highlighting the most significant aspects of your self-employed business.

If you're referring to something else, have encountered a different error message, or if you have any additional questions about managing your bank transactions in QuickBooks, please let me know by replying to this thread. I'll be around to help you.
