Let me help you figure this out, @ahammond49.

A possible reason why you're unable to open QuickBooks on your laptop is because of a corrupted data app. To isolate this, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling your QuickBooks Online application.

To proceed, here's how:

  1. Click the home screen of your device.
  2. Hold down the QuickBooks app until the option to uninstall shows up.
  3. Tap to uninstall the app.
  4. To re-install, go to the Play Store (for Android devices) or App Store (for IOS devices).
  5. Search for the QuickBooks app.
  6. Tap Install.

For more details, you can visit this page: How to download the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

If you access QuickBooks in a web browser, let's clear your browser's cache. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses. Let's start accessing your account using a different or a private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

Once you have successfully logged in to QuickBooks using a laptop, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.
