I am trying to convert my quickbooks online to desktop so I can bring the data into TurboTax Business. The link I have has a non functioning "Get Started" button. Here is the current link I have found with the non-functioning get started button. https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt

I can see how hard it is when things don't work the way they're supposed to, @straightchiro. The time we consume while fixing these issues is supposed to be spent on more important tasks for our business. No worries, I'm here to make sure you'll be able to successfully convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

First off, I want to ensure that we're on the same page and have followed the correct process. I'll be including them here for your reference:

Step 1:

  1. If you haven't done so yet, please download and install QuickBooks Desktop on your computer.
  2. After installation, open QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Next, navigate to the File menu and choose the option to Close Company. Make sure to keep QuickBooks Desktop open as you proceed with the remaining steps.

Note that you can only move data from QuickBooks Desktop for Windows. Once you move it to Windows, you can convert it to QuickBooks for Mac

Now to begin the conversion,

It's highly recommended to use a supported web browser in doing this.

  1. Please log in to your desired QuickBooks Online account using a supported browser. Use your Intuit Account credentials to sign in.
  2. Select the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt.  The URL should say https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. Then select Enter on your keyboard.
  3. Read the Export Overview then select Get Started.
  4.  Select Download tool to download the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool then hit Next.
  5. Accept the terms in the license agreement and select Next.
  6. Select Complete as the type of setup, then Next.
  7. Select Install, then Finish.

Proceed to Steps 3, 4 and 5

In addition, when transitioning from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop, you may observe variations in the appearance of your books. Here's an article that'll help you find out how your books are moved: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop

You're always welcome to send any queries you have. Just leave them below and I'll make sure to assist you further. Have a nice day ahead.

@straightchiro

Did you use QBD 2022 or 2023 to convert your data? Try using the trial version of QBD 2021.
