Question

When connecting QB to Plaid my usual login doesn't work. Do I need a Green Dot Bank when using Plaid since my QuickBooks login doesn't work.

I'm have been wanting to connect my QuickBooks Banking to an external source that uses Plaid for link banks. I found Green Dot Banking in Plaid’s list of banks, but after selecting it they asked me to login to my Green Dot Bank in order to finalize the connection with QuickBooks. I figured my QuickBooks login was all I needed, but nope. When I tried using my QuickBooks login credentials it did not work; so do I need an actual Green Dot Banking login for this? If so and I need a separate Green Dot account, how would I go about doing this? Thank you.

Hi, @Prospecks. I appreciate you for revisiting us in the QuickBooks Community and for sharing a detailed explanation of your concern.

Since Plaid has Green Dot Bank as one of its supported financial institutions, yes, you'll want to have a specific Green Dot Banking login for this one. I can provide more details about this and suggest the next steps.

While Green Dot Bank is one of our partner financial institutions for a QuickBooks Checking account, you can consider confirming through Plaid Support if the credentials for a QuickBooks Checking account can also be used to link with Plaid.

After this, I recommend contacting Green Dot Bank to help set up an account to connect with Plaid. You can locate their contact information on the back of your QuickBooks Checking debit card.
