Your question is tagged to QuickBooks Self-Employed, so I assume this is the product you use. Let me help you out.

 

You can go to Reports and run some reports to audit your records. You can even click the amounts to see the transactions and edit them when necessary. I'm also adding the articles below to guide you in managing your taxes:

 

 

On the other hand, if you're using QuickBooks Online Accountant and your client is on a QuickBooks Self-Employed plan, have him add you as an accountant user. This way, you will have access to his records.
