Let me share further insights about the security and access verification process in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Michael.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) enhances security in QBO by requiring a one-time confirmation code sent to you via email or mobile device during login.

To learn more about advanced tools, check this link: Verify your account with multi-factor authentication.

Additionally, the timeout feature in QBO adds security by preventing unauthorized access. The default is 1 hour, but you can change it to a maximum of 3 hours. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Choose the Advanced tab.
  4. Go to the Other Preferences section.
  5. In the Sign me out if inactive for drop-down arrow, choose 3 hours.
  6. Hit Save, and then Done
