Hello there, liabletaxprep.

Please know that QuickBooks offers to set up two-step verification for your account. It's a setting for your Intuit Account where you need to verify using a code sent to your mobile phone to ensure you're the one accessing your account. This is why your account was verified via phone call. I've got steps to ensure that you can modify the process so that you receive the verification differently.

I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks Online account and go to the Profile icon. You'll then be able to set up and change how you want to verify your account.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Manage your Intuit Account link under the Profile icon.
  2. Choose the Sign in & security menu at the left panel.
  3. In the "2-step verification" section, choose Text message as your verification method.
  4. Select Continue and enter the code we send you, then select Continue.
  5. Enter your account password, then choose Continue.

Once done, you'll always receive a standard six-digit verification text code every time you log in to your QuickBooks account.

In case you need other sign-in tips and troubleshooting steps to fix log-in issues that you might encounter, you can read this article: Recover your Intuit Account if you can’t sign in.
