Question

Why is my Sales Summary report posting a lot higher than my actual sales transactions in invoices?

My invoicing payments are correct. When I look at my sales summary report it's showing I've received a significant amount more.

Let me help you sort the Sales summary report to show the correct details, @sandymaneri-char.

When running the Sales by Customer Summary report, you'll have to make sure that the accounting method is set up as accrual. You may choose cash as an accounting method that's why your sales summary report shows a significant amount.

Also, the data being shown there is based on the specified period. You can also open the Sales by Customer Summary report to review the details of your sales graph.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports from the left pane.
  2. Open the Sales by Customer Summary in the field.
  3. Filter the date under the Report period.
  4. In the Accounting Method click the Accrual button.
  5. Click Customize button to filter the necessary details.
