Question

Why the price increase on payroll on a per employee basis?

Just got the reminder email that Quickbooks plans to gouge us on a per-employee basis.  How I use the desktop software is none of Intuit's business.  I pay for the product and I pay for the payroll addon.  When you only use Quickbooks for Payroll, it becomes a very expensive solution and does not seem worth it anymore.

I assume when they did the calculation for how much money they would be making from this, it must have outweighed the cost of how many clients they would be losing.

Hello, jshotton.

We know that this price increase has a big impact on your business.

The increase in payroll subscription is necessary for us to invest in our product features and functionalities. And also ensure it aligns with industry standards for pricing on Direct Deposit, QuickBooks Workforce, and eFiling.

Payroll regulations are frequently changing and increasingly complex as well. We also ensure that our tax tables are up to date for users to stay compliant with the tax code and current

regulations.
