Question

Why when printing my reports do they print blank?

My profit and loss statement is printing with title, date, and separation lines, but no info, as if a privacy setting is turned on.  This has never happened before.  Is the problem my printer or QuickBooks?

Let's figure out the cause of why the Profit and Loss report is blank when printing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

It's not something with the printer causing this issue. It's possible the print screen is already open in the background or an Adobe update is available. To avoid issues with printing and other problems, let's make sure we use a supported, up-to-date browser.

Once done, check that the Print screen is not behind all of your open windows. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Minimize your screens until you see the Print screen and select Cancel. Once you cancel you should be able to close the blank screen and try to print again. This time with the Print Preview screen showing your content instead of nothing.
  2. If you minimize your screens and don't see the Print screen, but do see the Adobe Updater screen, just select Upgrade, remind later, etc.
  3. We can also close all of your windows. Then sign out of your company. Then sign back in again and try to print.

If the same thing happens after going through the two troubleshooting steps and the add-on resolution, you can refer to this article to troubleshoot the issue: Test sequence for PDF printing issues.

I am having the same issue today.  I updated my Mac to iOS 14.0 two days ago, and then I had to download my new printer drivers (using a Canon Image Class MF236n printer).  I have tried all of the troubleshooting including restarting my printer and computer again; saved the reports as a PDF and then tried printing outside of QBO.  The reports show up blank on paper and also one time on my screen when I viewed as a PDF.  I figured it's related to the latest software update.  Any help on this?  I'm attaching a printed one page that comes out blank.
