I wish you didn’t have to go through this issue, raynorscott63466.

I'll provide some steps that will help ensure miles will download in your QuickBooks Self-Employed account. You can now auto-track trips on mobile devices and authorize the app to use location services.

You'll just have to turn it on to automatically record trips. Here's how:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app.
  2. Tap the Menu ☰ icon.
  3. Select the Mileage menu.
  4. Turn on Auto-tracking.
  5. To authorize the app to use location services, choose Allow, then Allow all the time for Android OS version 10 and below.
  6. Select Allow in settings, then Allow all the time for Android OS version 11 and above.

For Apple devices:

  1. Tap Allow Once, then open Settings on your device.
  2. Select Privacy, then Location Services.
  3. Find and tap the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  4. Click Always.

You can always review if the app is tracking miles. It's good to go when the settings have a green check. Please browse these articles to learn how to troubleshoot when the app won't track miles.

If you miss past trips, you can manually add them. Use this article for instructions and detailed steps: Learn how to add a trip to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I'm just around the corner to help if you have any other concerns tracking trips in QuickBooks. Have a good one and stay safe.
