Question

Has anyone had any problems updating the bank log in details with Suncorp Bank since acquiring a Token? How did you resolve this?

Hi jessica47,

Any bank feeds that require a token code such as Suncorp will require the new token number every time they update. Consequently when the feed tries to automatically update you will see it fail to connect and need to manually update each time. A common error this will show in QuickBooks is 'error 185' and can be resolved by following the below steps:

  1. Go to the Banking tab and look for a banner link that says 'Fix Your Connection'. If you don't see this banner, click the 'Update' button to prompt the next step.
  2. Click this and follow the prompts to add the new token code to allow QuickBooks to connect to your bank and download transactions.

You may also need to clear your browser's cache to ensure it is not storing additional expired information. We suggest using Google Chrome for the best QuickBooks experience, and you can do so by:

  1. In Chrome, hold down Ctrl+Shift+Delete and a pop-up will appear on your screen. You can also access this by selecting the Chrome menu (top right corner, three dots in a vertical line) and clicking More Tools, then Clear Browsing Data.
  2. Select the option 'clear cached images' and make sure the other two options are unticked.
  3. Select the time range All Time, then Clear Browsing Data.
  4. Once this is complete, the pop-up will disappear. Please restart your browser and log in once more, then attempt the steps above to download the transactions.
