(324) We can't find this account at your bank?????

December 18, 2024

Hi Julie,

Can I ask which bank account are you trying to update on file? That way, we can check if there is any related investigation or not for the bank account affected.

If there is any error message showing in the Bank transactions page, I recommend signing in first to your online banking website. Making sure that your log in details works and the account is active.

Once done, let's go back to QuickBooks Online and use the steps below.

1. Click on Bank transactions.

2. Locate the bank account.

3. Click on Refresh/Update button.

If the issue persists, I recommend checking in with our Chat or Phone Support to further check your bank account connection in a secure form.

In the meantime, you can use the manual upload option using CSV files to add your bank transactions.

When I log in to NAB for banking, I need a One Time Password which is sent as text message.  When linking a bank account in Quickbooks, I enter the same ID and pass word but the OTP doesn't arrive - can't log in, can't link new bank account.  Where to from here? Cure?

Let's get your new bank account connected to QuickBooks Online, @GrayHair. I have some details below to help you fix this sign-in issue.

There are times when it can take a couple of minutes for your code to arrive. Here are a few things you can do:

  • Check your junk mail or spam folder to see if the email went there.
  • Verify all email addresses you used to sign up for your account.
  • Unblock or add Do_not_reply@intuit.com as an approved sender in your email app.
  • You can get a new code sent to you by selecting the I didn’t get a textI didn’t get an email, or I didn’t get a phone call link on the product sign-in page.
  • If you lost your phone, check your text messages online at your cell carrier’s website.
  • You may have accidentally blocked the phone number we sent a text message from. Ensure to allow or unblock our number on your iOS or Android device.

However, if you're still unable to sign in to your account, I recommend reaching out to our customer support. They can further identify the cause of the sign-in issue.

You can learn more about what to do if you can't log in to your account by checking out this guide: Recover your Intuit Account if you can’t sign in.

Additionally, consider scanning this material for guidance on updating your account credentials to improve security: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

Feel free to reply to this thread for questions or clarifications when signing in to your account or other related concerns in QuickBooks Online. We are always here to lend a hand.

"Update my sign in info not letting me update

January 28, 2025

Hi MarkS57,

Let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the behavior encountered in your QuickBooks Online account. To start with, use a new incognito window or a different supported browser. Using a new incognito window does not store any data file.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then, log in to QuickBooks Online and let's update your bank's sing in information using the steps below.

  1. Click on the Transactions tab.
  2. Click on  Bank transaction and select the bank account affected.
  3. Click on the Edit or Pencil icon.
  4. Click on Edit sign in info and manually enter your bank's log in details.
  5. Click on Save and connect.

Verify if new transactions have downloaded. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team through Chat or Phone. That way, they can ask for your details in a secure form and can check your bank account connection.

In the meantime, you can manually upload bank transactions using a CSV file to be updated in your books.

The official QuickBooks documentation says about the 'description' field that "QuickBooks might simplify bank text by just giving the supplier name." ...but it gets it so wrong, so often.

Right now, I have a bank transaction in my feed where I paid a person with the surname Marshall, via bank transfer. There's a second where I bought something on credit card from a different person with the surname Marshall. QuickBooks describes both of these transaction as involving "Marshalls". Another time, it wrongly described the transaction as involving "Chapters Indigo" because I paid a local retailer named "Indigo Girls".

So many local Australian businesses are being artificially described as major North American corporations (Borders, Dicks, FreshCo), or just weirdly simplified ("JaDs Hairdressers" is listed as "Dresses"), that it makes categorising *more* confusing, rather than less.

It's difficult enough when the decription is so blatantly wrong, but it gets worse when the automatic description is a business I actually work with. For example, QuickBooks may automatically describe a transaction as "Apple" when it was actually a purchase from the local orchard, rather than anything to do with my iPad.

Is there any way to turn that feature off, or to provide feedback on "No, this is a bad description" or "Yes, this is helpful"?

Hi dotarray,

Thanks for joining the thread! It appears that you're setting up your bank rules using the description which is the simplified version of the bank text. We can set up bank rules based on the bank text so that your transactions will be categorised and added correctly in QuickBooks Online. Here's how to set up a bank rule using the bank text.

  1. Go to Transactions and select Bank transactions.
  2. Open a bank transaction.
  3. Select Create a rule.
  4. From the Apply this to transactions that are ▼ dropdown, select Money in or Money out.
  5. From the in ▼ dropdown, select a bank or credit card account, or select All bank accounts.
  6. In the Conditions fields, select Bank text. Then select Contains, Doesn't contain, or Is exactly to decide how QuickBooks applies the rules.
  7. Select the settings for the rule. Select the Transaction type, Category, Tags, and the Payee to apply.
  8. Select Save

Furthermore, if you would like to turn off the bank rules feature, we can do so by following these steps.

  1. Go to Transactions and select Rules.
  2. Click on the dropdown arrow of the bank rule and select Disable

Please note that once we disable the bank rules, we'll have to categorise the transactions manually in the For review tab.

If you have any product feedback or enhancement request, you may submit your valuable feedback by going to the Gear icon and select Feedback. This will be reviewed by our Product developers for consideration.

Hello,

I need some advice on how to get our bank systems added to your platform, so we can connect to it and retrieve transaction information. I have twice submitted my request along with URL's to the site login. Its been 8-9 weeks since first submittal. Is there a better method to requesting this for our business? We don't want to do manual uploads of transactions. Please advise. Thank you

Hi my bank transactions haven’t uploaded for the previous week how can I fix this

February 6, 2025

Hi RH,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

Let's do some troubleshooting to get your bank transactions downloaded to QuickBooks Online. The first thing to do is to do a manual refresh. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab and select Bank transactions.
  2. Select Refresh.

If you recently updated your bank information, we can edit your sign-in info in QuickBooks Online to restore the bank feed connection. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab and select Bank transactions.
  2. Select the tile for the bank account. Then select the Edit ✎ icon.
  3. Select Edit sign-in info.
  4. Update your info as needed.

Furthermore, we can also manually import the missing bank transactions via CSV file

Trying to connect to bank feed. What is card/access mean?

February 16, 2025

We're delighted you've joined us in the Community forum, Pat113. The card/access refers to the credentials or the information you provide to establish a bank feed connection in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I've got more details about this.

Specifically, it's the debit or credit card number associated with your online banking credentials, including username, password, and any additional security information your bank requires. The program requests this information to securely access your online banking system and retrieve transaction data directly from your bank.

If you're experiencing difficulties connecting your bank or see error codes while updating transactions in QBO, please check out these resources for detailed guidance:

After connecting your bank and downloading transactions in QBO, you need to categorise them to the correct accounts. You can also use bank rules to speed up this review process.

Real-time access to bank transactions helps improve cash flow management, Pat113. Your proactive approach to monitoring these details is commendable. If there are questions or clarifications you'd like to add, feel free to click on the Reply button. Have a great day ahead.

Yes, please.   At the moment, an old Quickbooks Program is connected to our Bendigo Bank Account.

I would like to connect the new Quickbooks Program to the Bendigo Bank Account, without effecting the old connection at this stage.  The new Quickbooks does not have a chart of accounts, yet, or any transactions.

Is this possible?  If so, how can it be done, please?

February 24, 2025

Hi KB125,

Thanks for joining the thread!

There are two ways to connect your bank in QuickBooks Online either via standard feed or direct feed. If we connect the bank via a standard feed, we can connect them to multiple QuickBooks Online accounts. However, if we connect the bank via a direct feed, we can only connect your bank to one QuickBooks Online account. Not all bank accounts are supported for standard and direct feed connections.

Here's how to connect your bank account:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab and select Bank transactions.
  2. Select Link account or Connect account.
  3. Enter and search your bank's name.
  4. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the account setup.

To view the list of banks you can connect to QuickBooks Online via standard and direct feed, you may check this article: Connect and manage your bank account in QuickBooks Online.
