Question

Hi, I’m trying to connect a transferwise account but the connection won’t go through, server times out. Google search reveals others might be encountering this issue?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, userarievydesign.

I appreciate you taking the initial steps in trying to resolve the issue. Allow me to provide some information about the error message and help connect Transfer Wise to QBO.

This indicates that the server is taking too long to respond to a data request made from another device. To move past the error, open your QBO account using private browsing or incognito mode. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

From there, connect the transfer account. Check out these keyboard shortcuts to bring up one.

  • For Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If you can successfully link the account, clear the cache of your regular browser. This will remove the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate.

If none of these suggestions work, refresh the page you’re trying to access and see if the issue is resolved. You can also restart the computer or router and make sure you have a good internet connection.

There you go. This troubleshooting will get you to link Transfer Wise to QBO in no time. For additional resources, let me share the Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online guide. It outlines the complete steps to link a bank or credit card account and instructions to download and categorise recently downloaded entries.
