Need to inactivate the undeposited fund account so the deposit could be added to the bank account by default.

Yes, you can inactive the Undeposited Funds account, Zarrar.

Before proceeding, let me share some insights about this account.

Undeposited Funds is an internal other current asset account created by QuickBooks. It holds funds until you are ready to deposit them.

It also serves as the default Deposit To account when you:

  • receive payments
  • use a payment item on an invoice, or
  • enter a sales receipt.

To continue, make sure all pending transactions from the Undeposited Funds account are posted to their bank accounts. You can refer to this article to learn more about this: Learn how to put payments into the Undeposited Funds account before you combine them into a deposit

Once done, you can follow these steps to hide the account on the Chart of Accounts.

  1. Go to Accounting from the left menu, then Chart of accounts.
  2. Find the Undeposited Funds account.
  3. Select the Action ▼ drop-down and choose Make inactive.

If you need to activate it, here's a link as a guide: Learn how to delete accounts from your chart of accounts. Scroll down to see the detailed steps.

Stay in touch with me if you have additional questions about inactivating the Undeposited Funds account. I'm always right here to help you.
