My account is showing a Cash and cash equivalents account and also a cash on hand account but I only have one bank account. Have I done something wrong?

Disconnecting an account connected to online banking stops QuickBooks from downloading new transactions from your bank. If you wish to disconnect an account, you can follow these steps.

1. Go to Bookkeeping, select Transactions, then select Banking.
2. Select the tile for the bank account.
3. Select the pencil ✎ icon, then select Edit account info.
4. Tick the Disconnect this account on save box.
5. Select Save and Close.

I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. Doing so will allow them to pull up your account in a secure environment to conduct further research and provide you the correct resolution.  

Here's how:

1. In your QuickBooks Online account, click Help.
2. Click the Search tab, and click Contact Us.
3. Enter the error message in the description box, and select Continue.
4. Start a chat with a support expert.
