My accounts are linked but still won't update

I'm here to ensure your bank accounts will be updated in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @bc_butchers. This way, you'll be able to keep track of your transactions and manage them accordingly.

 

Here are some of the possible reasons your accounts won't update in QBO:

  • The bank is performing system maintenance. 
  • There are notifications on your bank’s website that need your attention.

 

 

Let's start by manually updating your bank accounts. This refreshes the connection between the program and your financial institution. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the account you want to update.
  3. Click the Update button.
  4. (Optional) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

 

I've attached a screenshot below that shows the first three steps.

 

Then, you can sign in to your bank website. This is to check your account page for alerts or messages that need your attention. In case you make changes ton the website (i.e. login credentials or account numbers), you'll have to update the same information in QBO as well. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for the bank account you want to update.
  3. Click the Edit icon.
  4. Select Edit sign-in info or Edit account info.
  5. Update your info and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
