A payment was posted to the wrong bank GL account, how do I correct this?

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online Payroll has the flexibility you need, when preferences require attention.  It's important that the account mapping is accurate, to ensure your payroll expenses are applied to the correct accounts.  I'd be glad to help!

Follow these steps to edit the payroll account mapping;

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Payroll settings

2. Scroll down to the Accounting section and click on the Edit 📝

3. Select the Edit 📝 in the Wages section

4. Use the ▼ dropdown menu to select the appropriate accounts

5. When finished, hit Save

To move existing transactions to the correct account, you can create a journal entry.
