Question

An expense is showing in my bank register, but it doesn't show up when attempting to reconcile the account. Any idea why?

Hi usercanadafinance,

Welcome to Community!  It's important that your transactions are entered in QuickBooks Online so you can balance your accounts with peace of mind.  I'd be happy to provide more information so you can complete your QuickBooks goals!

Based on the information provided, I recommend taking a look at the audit log by going to > Settings ⚙ > Audit log,  to see if the transaction has been edited/deleted.  I'd also suggest changing the filter in your reconcile screen to see if it's already been marked as reconciled.  Here's how;

1. From the left menu, open Accounting and then Reconcile

2. Select the account using the ▼ dropdown menu

3. Select the arrow beside the Filter icon (looks like a funnel)

4. In the Cleared status field, choose Reconciled and enter the Date range

5. Hit Apply

6. If the transaction is marked with an 'R' in error, you can clear the status by opening the transaction by following this helpful guide.
