Hello!

Welcome to the QuickBooks Online community! The community's private messaging system isn't working at the moment, but I wanted to let you know that I've asked a moderator to change your screen name. It looked to me that you had put your QuickBooks Online company ID as the username, which is among the account information I want to make sure you keep private. Agents use the company ID to help identify and verify your account, so it's important that only authorized people know what it is. Now that we've got that sorted out, I'll get to helping you with resetting your balances so you can start fresh in your account.

The good news is, when you're within 90 days of the signup date for your account, QuickBooks Online gives you the option to delete the data and start from zero. Keep in mind this would clear out all data, not just the imported bank information. So if there's data you do want to keep and it's just the banking you would like to address, I don't recommend this option. I'll leave you with the article where you can review the steps to take: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online

If it's only the banking data that's incorrect, I have a few suggestions. I recommend reading through them each first so you can find the one you need for your situation.

To begin, the following steps will work to zero out that account and allow you to re-import the dates you'd like. There are a few parts, which include disconnecting the account, deleting added transactions, and then reconnecting the account, but it should do the trick.

Disconnect the account in the Banking tab

  1. Select Banking from the left menu.
  2. On the Banking tab, click the pencil icon on the connected account with the incorrect imported dates.
  3. Click Edit account info.
  4. Check the box Disconnect this account on save.
  5. Click Save and close.

This disconnects the connection between QuickBooks Online and your bank or credit card website, which takes the transactions in the For Review tab with it. The account created in QuickBooks, however, will remain in the program. If you already added some transactions from the feed, you'll have to delete them with the steps in the next section, as well as the beginning balance entry.

Delete transactions in the account that was connected to the feed

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Click Account history for the account that was connected to the bank feed in the Chart of Accounts.
  3. Click on transactions that have been entered, then Delete.
  4. Ensure that you click the opening balance transaction and click Delete.
  5. Click Yes on the warning message about the opening balance transaction being reconciled (the program does this by default).

Once you've done that, the account should be at zero, at which point you can move to the final step of reconnecting the account in the bank feed. Here are the steps: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online

Keep in mind that if you've matched any of the transactions from the Banking area to items that were already in QuickBooks, you'll need to rematch them or potentially add them back into the books. Here's the article that explains those features: Match and categorize bank transactions in QuickBooks Online

Another important detail with bank feeds is that the date range for which you can download transactions is determined by the bank. If you're not seeing the date range you want, you'll need to head to the banking website to download a file to then upload into QuickBooks.

If your situation is simply that you need other dates in addition to what you've imported, try going to your bank or credit card site, downloading the file, and then adding it. This article can help: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online

I know I've given you a lot to work with, so don't be afraid to reach out if you have more questions. I'm here to help. :)
