 Hi linda90,

Learning the status codes in QuickBooks Online will help you better make sense of your bookkeeping, especially when it comes to reconciliations. QBO is here to make the reconciliation process easy, and the bank register uses the letters C and R to designate the status of your transaction. I'll explain more below.

If you've entered transactions via the bank feed, they'll appear in the bank register (Chart of Accounts) containing information specific to that transaction. In the register, you'll see a column with a check-mark, which displays the reconciliation status.

Codes indicate the status of the transaction:

  •         - Cleared
  •         - Reconciled
  •         Blank - Not cleared or reconciled

You can manually change the status via the account register, but this will also be done for you if you use the reconcile workflow in QBO, as explained here: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online

If you've got any other questions about the status of your transactions, please reach out to our tech support team so one of our agents can investigate exactly how your account is set up. It may be helpful to walk through your account information in order to provide the most accurate information pertaining to your specific situation.

Have a nice day.
