Hello!

The reconciliation process can seem like a daunting task at first, but it's an essential part of the bookkeeping process and ensures that your real-life bank balances are matching up to what you've entered into QuickBooks. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to speed through your reconciliations in no time. Let me give you a hand.

Since I'm not sure what the issue is that you've come across during your July reconciliation, I can't provide any concrete direction. The most important step you can take when reconciling, is to have your bank statement for the corresponding period opened up in a different browser window, or printed so that you can view it while you complete the QBO reconciliation process. I suggest going through every single transaction in your statement, and checking it off in QuickBooks as well as on your statement once you've found a match. If there are extra transactions in QuickBooks, or on your statement, you'll need to edit or delete transactions, or add them in.

Some specifics would be helpful in this scenario, however I do have a few great articles that provide a lot of great direction, and I'm confident that they'll be useful.

The last article I shared above will be particularly helpful, so I hope you'll give it a read over. If the articles don't give you the help you need, please feel free to expand on the issue that you've run into. Is there a problem with your opening balance? Is the QuickBooks balance not matching up with your bank balance, causing a discrepancy? Is there a transaction entered in QuickBooks that's not showing on your bank statement, or vice versa?

Remember that this is a public forum, so sharing sensitive account details isn't recommended and will be removed from your reply. So when you expand on the problem, feel free to include screenshots that block out sensitive details as these are helpful for me to get a full picture. Sometimes working with an agent in real-time is the best way to work these things out, as you can do a screenshare. If that's the method that you'd prefer, here are some ways that you can get in touch:
