Hi all, I'm trying to figure out how to see total deposits in the bank account for a certain day. Is there a way to do that?

Hi there margaretu-little and welcome to the Community,

 

I can see how having the ability to filter through your banking transactions would be a time-saving feature. QuickBooks Online allows for lots of ways to customize and filter through your lists, reports, and accounts. Let me explore this with you so you can pull the data you're looking for.

 

If you're looking to filter through the banking feeds, you'll have the option to select a date range from the All dates dropdown. That'll enable you to choose a specific day to see transactions for. You won't be able to filter for just deposits though, you'll have to manually sift through the list to count out deposits versus money spent. 

 

From the Chart of Accounts, you have the ability to Run a report or to view the Account history by using the dropdown in the Action column for most accounts, including bank accounts. When you view the Account history you'll be able to select the filter icon to choose what you see and for what date range. The Transaction Type dropdown will give you plenty of options, one of which is Deposits. The Date dropdown allows you to select a timeframe that suits your needs.

 

When you Run a report for one of your accounts you can customize the Report period to see a specific date in time. The Customize option to the right allows you to filter by plenty of options, including Transaction TypeAccount, and more. You can even save a custom report so that you can refer back to it quickly, at any time. With all of these options, you'll still need to manually count the number of transactions unless you use the option to Export your report to Excel so that you can manipulate it outside of the software.
