Hi there sherrydoble-gma,

Making sure your first reconcile is done correctly is an important step to make sure the following ones are easier to complete. QuickBooks Online is a great tool to help you make sure your bank transactions are accounted for in your books correctly. I can help you with that reconcile.

The reconcile process in QuickBooks Online takes into consideration all transactions in that account that have been reconciled in order to generate the opening balance. There is no way to exclude these transactions as they too need to be reconciled in order to get an accurate opening balance. The only way for you to no longer see them in the reconcile is to check them in order to reconcile them now as the reconciles done in previous software are not reconciled in QuickBooks Online.

If there is still a difference after checking off those transactions, you may want to speak to your accountant in order for assistance in creating a journal entry to help affect the difference or locate the transactions that make up that difference. If you want to invite your accountant to your QuickBooks Online account in order for them to see your books, you can navigate to the My Accountant tab in the left menu and enter their contact info to send them an invitation by email. If you don't have an accountant but would like to find one near you, you can click on the Find a pro to help button at the bottom of that page.

I hope this helps you get back to reconciling your accounts in QuickBooks Online. If you need more information, feel free to reach out here.
