How do I record receipts with a foreign currency?

QuickBooks Self-Employed doesn't currently support foreign currencies transactions. I know how useful it is to be able to handle different currencies for your business needs, and I invite you to submit feedback directly to our engineers by going to the Assistant feature in your account, then typing "Feedback" and following the prompts. 

You can also consider using our QuickBooks Online version to enable the multi-currency feature. This option is available in the Essentials and Plus plan of QuickBooks Online. Here are some articles for more details on that and options moving forward.
