I have creating the separate income account to record tips, however, I cannot seem to figure out how to separate them into it.

Hi meriskakuntz-gma,

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online has everything you need to meet your daily bookkeeping goals.  You can record and share tips and gratuities in QuickBooks and add them to your sales forms.  I'll be happy to provide more information so you're on the right track.

As you've mentioned, an account has already been set up.  The next step is to set up the item in your products and services.  Here's how:

1. From the Gear in the top right open Products and services

2. Click on New in the upper right

3. Choose Non-inventory or Service as the type

4. Give it a Name

5. Use the ▼ dropdown menu for the Income account and choose the liability account you created

6. From the Expense account ▼ dropdown, choose the liability account you created

7. Hit Save and close when finished

To learn more about how to add tips to an employee cheque, or if your business pays out tips before depositing the total payment amount to your bank account, follow this link.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out with other questions.  We'd be glad to assist!
