Hello buckhampc,

Keeping up with your bank reconciliations is good practice when it comes to managing a set of books because it helps you stay on top of the money in and money out from your business. I know there are certain circumstances where you might want to have a reconciliation reversed, and I can go over how that can be done with QuickBooks Online.

When you're working with QuickBooks Online as a regular user, the process to undo a reconciliation is a manual one as there isn't a button to click to have it reversed. I've got a great article here that goes over that option and walks you through how it works: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online. You may even benefit from reading our Avoid undoing a reconciliation article, so I recommend reading that as well.

If you're an accountant user yourself or working with one in your QuickBooks account, that user access has a button to undo reconciliations. The article Undo a client’s reconciliation in QuickBooks Online Accountant walks you through it or you can share it with your accountant if you're not the accountant yourself.

To work with an accountant in QuickBooks Online, check out the My Accountant tab. There, you can invite your accountant as a user to your books, which gives them access to use tools like the one I just mentioned for undoing reconciliations. If you don't have an accountant, that tab provides the Find a pro to help button, which you can click to see the directory of QuickBooks-certified accountants near you.

I hope this has been helpful! Feel free to reach out again if you have more questions.
