Question

I am having difficulty in reconciling a credit card account since I accidentally deleted a transaction relating to a payment on that account. Now my beg balance is out.

This is the error message I receive when I try to resume reconciling: Your account isn't ready to reconcile yet Your beginning balance is off by $850.00. We can help you fix it

    Hi makecentsbusiness,

     

    Welcome to the QuickBooks Community!  QuickBooks Online provides the features you need to reconcile your account effortlessly.  At this time there isn't a way to restore a deleted transaction, but you can enter it again if you have the required information. I would be happy to help!

     

    Here's how to obtain the transaction information;

     

    1. Open your Settings ⚙ and choose Audit Log

    2. Go to Events then click on Show only these events

    3. Use the Transactions check box

    4. Pick Deleted/Voided Transactions from the Show ▼ dropdown menu

    5. Hit Apply 

    6. Look for the deleted item, then click View under History

    7. Press the arrow beside the date of the transaction to show the line items.

    8. Once you've obtained the transaction details, select +New from the left menu, then choose the transaction you need to recreate. Use the information on the report.
