Welcome to QuickBooks Online (QBO), Calvin. I'm here to help you fix the incorrect GL account when migrating over from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Due to some feature differences, accounts might be added to QBO differently. QBO has an additional level of account type called Detail Type. A generic detail type will be assigned automatically. You can change this if you like after the conversion process.

Additionally, you can go to the Chart of Accounts to fix the incorrect account after migration.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks.
  2. Click on Accounting at the left pane, then tap on Chart of Accounts.
  3. Select the account you want to update, then click on Edit under Action.
  4. Make the necessary changes, then hit Save and Close when finished.

You can also select the Account history link to review the transactions recorded under that account.
