I had a deposit today, going to the wrong bank account. The account its going to has been closed. Is there anyway to redirect the deposit?

Hi mitchellhoule199,

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online Payments is a dynamic way to let your customers pay their account directly from the invoice they receive.  It's definitely concerning when a payment is directed to the wrong account.  I'd be happy to help!

Credit card payments go into the external bank account, known as your payments account that you set up.  This can be changed to ensure QuickBooks deposits payments promptly when they are received and processed.  Follow these steps to update the bank account;

1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online in a web browser

2. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings

3. Click on the Payments tab

4. In the Deposits section beside Standard Deposits, select Change next to your existing bank account

5. Hit Add new bank account

6. Enter the card number of the bank account you want to change to

7. Enter your login credentials and connect your account

8. Select Save

9. Review the bank account info and make sure it’s selected before completing your request.

QuickBooks will start depositing customer payments from online invoices and other sources into the new account.  With regards to the deposit you received prior to updating the bank account information, I recommend contacting our Customer Care team, to let them know you've successfully updated the bank account information, so they can release any funds that may be on hold.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach back out.  Your success is our number one priority and we would be glad to assist!
