Question

I'm using QuickBooks online. I've noticed that some things that have already been reconciled are showing up on the new month's reconcile. Why is this happening?

Hi office-karunia-c,

Thanks for reaching out here.  Welcome back!  Your banking is a vital part of your business and it's essential that you're able to reconcile with confidence.  QuickBooks Online has the features needed to establish your banking goals.  I'll be happy to assist!

Seeing transactions that were previously reconciled can be rather concerning.  This can be caused by changes that were made after you reconciled the account, or the entries are duplicates. To see if any changes were made to the transactions go to the Gear in the top right of your QuickBooks account and open the Audit log.  You can also go to the Reconcile page for the account and open the History by account.

Here's how to delete duplicate transactions:

1. From the Gear in the top right, go to Chart of accounts

2. Select Account history to the far right of the desired account

3. Locate the duplicate transaction and click on it to expand the view

4. Hit Delete and the Yes to confirm the action

Note:  This method is permanent and can't be undone.  If you delete a transaction in error, you'll need to re-create it.

Here's a helpful article for your reference for fixing issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out with any other questions.  We'd be glad to assist!
