Question

I see a test deposit that was made in my bank account. When I go to the "CONFIRM YOUR TEST DEPOSIT" section, there's no box to enter the amount. What can I do?

Hello usernikhil,

It sounds like you're well on your way to setting up direct deposit for QuickBooks Online Payroll. This is a great option for ensuring that your employees get paid accurately and on time, and I'm here to help you complete the setup and get started.

It's good you're seeing the test transaction in your bank account, and now it's just a matter of verifying it in QuickBooks Online Payroll so that the program knows this bank is the one to use when moving the funds. I have a feeling you may already be where you need to be to confirm the test transaction, but just to make sure, here are the steps to find it.

  1. Select the Settings ⚙️ icon, then Payroll Settings.
  2. Under Payroll, select Direct Deposit.
  3. Select Verify Test Transaction. (Note: This option will not be available until the test amount has been debited.)
  4. Enter the test transaction amount in both boxes (less than $1.00). Enter the pennies only, without a dollar sign. (i.e. .47)
  5. Select Ok.

I've pulled these steps directly from our How to set up payroll direct deposit article, which goes more in-depth into the setup process overall. If you're still not seeing a spot to enter the test amount, I encourage you to reach out to our support team outside of this community forum so that we can take a closer look at what's going on.
