In QBO, how do I change to manual entry of banking and credit card amounts instead of linked accounts? I made the wrong choice in the initial setup...

Hi daniel-strubhar,

 

Mistakes like that are common but don't worry, I'll be happy to show you how to stop the automatic bank downloads. QuickBooks offers a robust banking module that simplifies the way you manage your banking. 

 

In order to stop the automatic downloads of transactions, you'll have to disconnect your bank account. It's important to make sure you've moved any wanted transactions from the For review tab to the Categorized tab before disconnecting the bank. This helps make sure your transactions are up to date and going forward, you'll be manually uploading transactions until you connect the bank again. Here's how to disconnect the bank connection: 

  1. Click on Banking on the left panel.
  2. Click on the Edit (pencil) icon on.
  3. Select Edit account info.
  4. Remove the checkmark beside Disconnect this account on save.
  5. Click Save and Close.
