Question

My bank is using a new web platform and the url has changed. How do I add a url to reconnect the account? The reconnect function won't acknowledge the new url.

The bank has not updated its info with quickbooks so their old url is all quickbooks seems to recognize. Is there a way to override this and enter a url?

Hi @userme1. Yes, there's a way to override the old URL.

You can disconnect the account to enter the new bank URL so the current transactions will be available in the same bank register or account history.

Disconnecting an account will remain active in QuickBooks Online (QBO), but it stops the system from getting your bank transactions. In addition, those entries that were in your For Review tab will be deleted. That said, ensure to categorize, add, or match them before unlinking the bank account in QBO.

Here's how to disconnect:

  1. Go to the Banking/Transactions menu.
  2. Choose the bank tile, and then click the Pencil icon.
  3. Select Edit account info.
  4. From the account details, check the Disconnect this account on save box.
  5. Hit Save and Close.

Once done, let's connect the account again using the new bank's login URL. Enter your updated login credentials and follow the onscreen instructions to link it successfully.

Once the transactions are available in your bank feeds, you can then manage to assign, categorize, edit or add them in your bank register.

If there's anything else that you need to know, you can always get back to me. Have a great day.
