Question

No transactions for review appear in Banking unless I edit sign-in info for my bank (credit union), yet if I manually click Update the balance updates. Is this a bug?

QuickBooks Online comes stocked with tons of helpful convenience tools to save you time with your bookkeeping tasks. The bank feeds is one of many features that help you with an efficient workflow. If you're noticing that your accounts aren't updating automatically, there's a few steps you can try. 

 

The first step is to trigger the manual update, which you've done. For any other users who may need to know the steps, here's what you'll do:

 

1. Click the Banking tab on the left navigation menu. 

2. Click Update on the far right-hand side of the page. 

 

You're right on track with the next step as well. Editing your sign-in information will help reset the connection. Again, here's the steps for other users:

 

1. Click the Banking tab on the left navigation menu. 

2. Select the small pencil icon next to the account you'd like to update.

3. Click Edit sign-in info

4. Click Save

 

If you've tried these steps and you're still not seeing your bank transactions updating, do some browser troubleshooting to ensure your browser isn't causing issues with QBO.

 

Try clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser to remove any stored Internet files. These stored files can cause bugs in QBO and other sites. Here's how to clear them: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online

 

If the issue persists, try using an Incognito window in Google Chrome. This is a private browsing mode that operates separately from the main browser, and it doesn't get impacted by stored cache and cookies. Once you've completed this troubleshooting, try logging out of QBO entirely, then log back in.
