Reconnecting bank, creating new chart of account

Hello,

 

A month or so ago my bank got disconnected from the online banking API in quickbooks online. Now when I reconnect it I log in and it takes me through the steps to reconnect the account, however it creates a whole new chart of account with no option to connect to the existing chart of account. Is there a way to workaround this and merge them after the new account is created?

It's always a pleasure to see new faces in the Community, Welcome! Thanks for reaching out to us here. Making sure you have only the necessary accounts in your Chart of account is important. I would be happy to provide some information.

 

QuickBooks Online gives you the option to merge accounts together. By doing this, it  combines the transactions for both accounts into the appropriate account. You can make any other duplicates inactive. If you require further assistance, I recommend reaching out to the support team outside of the Community. They'll have the ability to do a screenshare with you and guide you back on track. You can reach them by following one of these methods:

 

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
