Hi there info-songtea-ca,

It's so great to have you join us here in the QuickBooks Community forum. I'm glad you're keeping on top of your accounts in the chart of accounts, and I can see how having the Balance field would make a big difference in this process. I'd be delighted to go over this for you so that you can stay on top of your business finances.

When you select Account history on an account in your chart of accounts, the program should automatically include the Balance column to the far right of the screen. It could be that you'll have to scroll to the right depending on how many columns you have showing and the width of your screen. You can even change the width of the columns to that everything fits better if you'd like. Hover over the line between a column and when you see the symbol that looks like two arrows facing left and right, click and drag.

If you're still not seeing it, another way to make sure you have the correct columns is by clicking the small gear above the columns. You can pick and choose which you'd like visible, and by checking off Running Balance, you'll have the Balance column on the screen. You shouldn't have to select that each time as the program remembers your preferences as soon as a box is selected.

Give that a shot and let me know how it goes. I want to make sure you get the Balance field you're looking for so you can move forward with your books.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
