When i linked my bank account i put in the wrong start date how do i fix this? now when i do a bank rec my opening balance is not right

Having the correct opening balance is a great way to track what you have on hand or owe when you start using QuickBooks Online. I can help get this information corrected in your QuickBooks Online account.

If you have an incorrect opening balance on a bank account you'll need to find the initial journal entry for your opening balance and change the amount. You can do this by going to: Accounting>Chart of Accounts. Once in your chart of accounts you will need to find the bank account with the incorrect opening balance and then click on account history. There should be a Journal entry called opening balance which should be the first entry that was entered. You just need to click on it, put in the correct amount and then click save.

Once the amount is saved you will have the new opening balance showing on your account going forward.
