Question

Why are my credit card interest charges not in my QBO reconciliation?

My credit card is linked to QBO, and all the transactions come through as expected. However on reconciling QBO and my statement, QBO is off by the exact amount of my billing period interest charge. QBO has no record of making these monthly payments, as far as I can figure. What to do?

Hello scott80,

I know how vital it is to account for your credit card fees in QuickBooks Online. If the rest of your transactions are coming through the bank feed, great! I'll help you account for the fees associated with your transactions during the "add/match" process in QBO.

Follow the steps in this article to see How to account for Bank Fees when matching transactions in Bank Feed

As stated in the article, you'll have to set up a special expense account in order to account for your credit card or bank fees.

If you're still unsure how to do this, or if you need additional assistance, please reach out to our tech support team.

Cheers.
