I want to change Remitance advice default text. The default is 'Please find our remittance advice attached to this email.Thank you.Thanks for your business!'

We can edit the email default message, gaselec. 

 

Please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Go to Sales.
  4. In the Messages section, update the default email message sent with sales forms.
  5. Click on Save

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thats no help I'm afraid.

That allows me to edit the message for 
Invoices
Estimates
Credit note
Sales receipt
Statement
Refund receipt
There is no sales form edit for 'Remittance advice' and it is not the same text as any of the others.

I appreciate you for getting back to us, gaselec.

 

The option to modify the default body message when sending a remittance advice isn't available. What we can do for now is manually edit the message before sending the bill payment.

 

I'll take note of this idea and share it to our developers. They'll analyze this one and may be added to our future updates. 

 

If you have additional details, please let me know. I'll take if from there.

just seen below, totally agree so annoying when it says this , I have to keep deleting 'thanks for your business'   I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR MONTHS !

 

Does anyone know how to change the subject heading when you send a remittance advice in QB'S?

My automatic e mail sent from QB's says ...Bill Payment (cheque) .. hold on I am not paying by cheque I am paying by bank transfer /FPS

My suppliers know this and are ringing me and asking why have you changed to a cheque payment.

Who pays by chq any more !!!

HI Jenny001, There isn't a way in QuickBooks to change the subject header on the email that gets sent for the remittance. The only thing at the moment you can do is preview it and then use the arrow symbol to download it and then attach it to your own personal email. It's worth adding this request in the feedback tool in the cog.

Remittance Advice functionality really needs to be improved.

 

They also default to having the company payment details at the bottom too (where Intuit suggest they go on the invoice template) which then confuses people who receive them.

 

I do cringe as an accountant when people I have recommended QBO to come back with these problems and all I can say is Intuit are thinking it might be a good development in the future. My clients need these things sorted now.

I've just been searching for this also as I agree that the 'Thanks for your Business!' is unprofessional and not required.

 

It would also be good so that the email subject does not have (cheque) in it. In fact just having Remittance Advice from... would be much better.

Just a +1 from me.

 

Unsure why you can edit all the other message texts but not Remittance Advice.

 

And the default text is stupid as others have noted.

 

We also find the default messages often get flagged as spam, but adding unique contact details and phrasing helps them look more like legitimate messages.

Dear Quickbooks

 

I also think the remittance message is unproffessional and would like to change it, you mention historically that other quickbook users are wishing to change this setting. 

Have you now made the updates ? I have accounts staff hours changing and wish to notify all suppliers, manually for 80 suppliers this will take time, although i know you will say copy and paste contents.

When will you be update it ?

Hi Keela, There have been no changes to the default text, at the moment we do not have an update on if this will be done however we do have a product update page where we do publish forthcoming changes here

I am also having issues with the remittance advice. It is cc'ing the admin email address on our account. Does anyone know if this can be shut off. Our owner does not want a copy of the remittance sent to her every time, and I can not find the area to shut this off.

The option to edit the text in the Remittance Advice is still not available in QuickBooks Online. You'll want to manually edit the body of the email before sending it out to your clients.

I've just joined Quickbooks from Sage and I am shocked that this is not already a feature. To then discover that this has been raised as an issue since January 2020 and over a year later Intuit hasn't made this option available is unacceptable. Starting to regret our decision to move....

I love how you say you will submit this request - which numerous Quickbooks' customers have been raising for a very long time - to your 'developers for their consideration'.   They are working for you.  How about showing some consideration to your very frustrated Customers - who are paying you for a service which you aren't doing a very good job of supplying?

Hello LR53, The remittance text is remaining as it is for the moment, we have seen and put in requests from this thread for it to be changed to the product developers and we can add your vote as well, the more popular a request is when it's an enhancement the better in terms of it being implemented.

I have issues with bank feeds unresolved since March. Back and forth with support and all that has been achieved in 6 months is a lot of cases were closed (but not fixed).

 

If QBO doesn't do what you need, you're just going to have to switch to Xero or something else. Give up waiting for issues and niggles to be solved... you'll be waiting years.

Quickbooks are utterly hopeless. Their template reply (which you've reproduced here) is impossible to amend unless you change it manually every single time - which is totally impractical.

This 'Have a nice day!' response might be adequate for an amateur or youthful organisation, but is totally inappropriate for a grown-up business

I change the text to what I want and then copy it and paste with my remaining payments. It's a pain but easier than typing it each time. Sharing "feedback" is useless - they still don't make any changes.

Completely agree with everything in this thread.  Also, why do we need a signature section - the whole thing is so unprofessional.  I have said we might go back to XERO - at least I could edit every document there the way I wanted it

Bumping and cheering for the request!

 

I am facing the same issue. This is an essential feature that QB Support is claiming to be looking into since 2020 and we're not there yet unless I am severely mistaken.

 

The whole point of having an accounting software is to not have to use a third party or use an alternate solution to generate my remittance advice, yes?

 

QB team, please put in those 20-30 hours needed to correct what users report as being wrong with your software.
