Question

1099 Efile isn't working properly

When I go through the process for e-filing my 1099s, like I've done in the past, I don't get a confirmation it's been done. I get all the way to the "finish" button and a screen pops up that says "There are no 1099s to file" even though I selected my 1099s in the prior screen.  Is anyone else having issues this year?

I can help you with resolving the error you're having to file your 1099s, @darcibt.

The error you're having with 1099s can be caused by the piled-up cache in your regular browser. Let’s isolate this issue by clearing your browser’s cache.

Try using a private browser when processing your 1099s. If it works, proceed and clear the cache in the one that you're currently using.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

If it works, here's how to clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. Restart your browser right after. You can also try to log in to your account using other supported browsers (Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge) if the steps above didn’t work.

Here's more information about creating and e-filing your 1099s: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online. Once done, you'll be notified via email regarding your filing status. You can also check your filing status by visiting your 1099 E-File account.
