Is anyone aware of 1099s not being received by their contractors via USPS mail? I have received many notifications that contractors have not received their paper copies.

I understand that it's crucial to know why your contractors haven't received their 1099s yet. Let me explain why this is happening. Generally, 1099s are postmarked to your contractors by January 31st, which is the deadline set by the IRS for sending out these forms. However, the delivery time may take a week or more depending on USPS service, weather conditions and your contractor's mailing address.

 

Also, you can consider contacting our support team so you can get updates about the filling status of the forms you've submitted. Here's how: 

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either of these tabs:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact us to connect with a support expert.

 

If your contractor needs the 1099 form urgently, you can manually print and send it to them. Also, they will get an email notification on whether their 1099s are ready to download.
