Question

940s still being filed a year after i cancelled the payroll service

Intuit full service worked so well for us for many years. They took the web site down and we cancelled the service a year ago. Now that I'm about to do my own taxes, I find that QB is still happily filing federal tax forms for the whole year. WELL I KINDA NEED THEM TO STOP DOING THAT. But, as anyone who has attempted to get a hold of them knows very well, it's fairly impossible to get phone or text help. Does anyone know how to cut off a rogue business from filing tax forms for your company? One that is, say sinking faster than the Titanic?

Thanks for dropping by the Community today, chaseair.

This isn’t the kind of experience I want for you, especially when using the payroll service. I’m here to help and guide you on how to cancel the filing for your 940 forms.

Subscription and other account-related issues require us to gather personal data to open an account. Thus, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team via chat for real-time assistance. Reaching out to them ensures that we no longer file your 940 forms.

For tips and resources on how to handle your taxes and forms, check the following reference: QuickBooks Online Payroll. From there, you’ll see topics about processing the federal forms manually or electronically.

Also, this link contains articles on how to perform any payroll-related tasks in QuickBooks. Make sure to choose the article to see more details: Self-help guide.

Keep in touch if you still have additional questions about processing your federal tax forms. I’ll be right here to help and make sure this is taken care of for you. Have a good one.
