941 error message

I have 7 full payroll clients. All but one process 941s without errors. One company 941 gives me an error message: "Form 941, Pg 3:Signature date is missing. Enter the signature date."

As far as I know all companies are set up the same. I just ignore the message and move on. Curious as to why this occurs.

Hello, Henthorn.

I know that you need Form 941 as soon as possible. Let me help you.

I've confirmed that the latest payroll update (22112) doesn't include yet the final Form 941. The accuracy is still being validated due to some changes on the said form. However, once it's ready, there'll be a pop-up on your QuickBooks Desktop to inform you that you can now download and install it.

Please check these links for your reference about payroll updates. These will also show you the steps on how to download it:

Our Payroll Experts are working already so they can release it as soon as possible.

I recommend reaching out to our Support Team so they can further assist you with it.

  1. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter "Form 941", select Let's talk and then choose a way to connect.

I've added an article for more info about payroll tax filing: What filing periods (years and quarters) are available in the Payroll Tax Center?.
