We have a couple of options on how to handle the credit notice you've received from the state of Wisconsin, AlJ1. Let's go over through them one by one.

If the credit is from an overpayment, you can leave it as it is since the current quarter hasn't ended yet. It'll cover any additional payroll tax liabilities you have for the rest of the period, until it's all used up.

If it's a just regular SUI tax credit, not from overpayment, you can send us the notice. This way, our payroll support team can assist you further in applying the credit.

To get started, prepare the letter and handwrite your Employer Identification Number (EIN) on the first page of the credit notice. Then, upload it in QuickBooks Online. Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes then select Payroll tax.
  2. Hit Resources.

  3. Choose Tax Notice.
  4. Follow the on-screen to send your notice to us.

You can also send it through email. Just follow the instructions from the Send in your tax notice section under this article: Send in your payroll tax notice.

I'll include this material if you want to print or download your filed tax forms and payments: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.
