I'm here to help allow your employees to clock in and out on the app, jwbush. Let's go through some steps to help you resolve this issue.

As an admin or manager, you need to grant the Mobile Time Entry permission. Otherwise, your employees will receive an error message when attempting to clock in on the app.

To fix:

  1. Go to the web dashboard and select My Team.
  2. Open the team member profile and pick Permissions.
  3. Turn on Mobile time entry.
  4. Once synced, he should be able to start tracking time on the app.

Another reason could be the Location set as Required in your account. If this is the case, employees who don't have the necessary app settings will be automatically clocked out.

However, if you have recently added team members, you'll need to invite them to use the app so they can start tracking their time. For complete instructions, refer to this article: Set up QuickBooks Time in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Here's an article that can help you sort out other issues you may encounter while using the app: Troubleshoot QuickBooks Workforce (formerly QuickBooks Time mobile app).

I'd love to hear if this solution works for you! I'm only a post away if you need additional help tracking time. Take care!
