I'm delighted to have you join this forum, emilynacchio. I can provide information to help you modify and add middle name information on your W9 forms.

 

When updating information on W9s, you'll need to make sure changes on these forms are edited before your employer submits your 1099-MISC to the IRS. Don't worry, this info will automatically update the record for your employer in their account. We also recommend you tell them directly if you make any changes. To do this:

 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed. Use the same account you used to fill out your W-9.
  2. Select your profile ⚙ icon. Then, click Tax Profile.
  3. Make changes as needed.
