We appreciate you reaching out to us in the Community, VitosUpholstery. I'd be happy to discuss how to efficiently update the pay schedule in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll.

When changing the pay schedule for your staff, ensure that you select the correct upcoming payday and the end of the subsequent pay period to align with the new pay schedule.

To review and input the accurate pay period ending, here are the steps:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu in the left panel.
  2. Select the Employees tab.
  3. Choose the employee you want to change the pay schedule.
  4. From the Employment details window, select Edit.
  5. Tick the Pay schedule ▼ dropdown.
  6. Change the pay schedule for the employee moving forward, and then click Save when done.

To resolve the discrepancy of the two missing days on the payroll, we can establish a new payroll item for the tax deductions and contributions for precise calculation. Afterward, please include it in the pay period.
