Amend a 941 return after submission

Please note that QuickBooks Online Payroll doesn't support the filing of amended or corrected forms. However, I'll also ensure you can still achieve this by effectively performing an alternate way.

Any changes to this tax form would have to be completed manually, processed, and sent to the IRS. Since they have copies of the forms on their website, you can refer to this page for guidance on downloading a copy of the 941-X form: About Form 941-X, Adjusted Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return or Claim for Refund.

Then, I also recommend printing some payroll reports and using them as your reference when filing the amended Form 941.

Here's how:

1. Go to the Reports menu and search for a payroll report. 
2. Filter the dates according to your preferences.
3. Click Run Report.
4. Select the drop-down arrow from the upper right corner of your screen.
5. Choose Export to Excel.
6. Open the downloaded file and print it from there.
